NORTH NEWPORT and CORINNA – Darrell K. Lancaster, 73, husband of the late Verlyne (Web-ber) Lancaster, died April 16, 2004, at a Bangor hospital after a short illness. He was born April 20, 1930, in Corinna, the son of Benjamin and Grace (Willey) Lancaster. He was a U.S. Army veteran and had been an employee of Eastland Woolen Mill in Corinna, retiring in 1992 after 30 years of service. Darrell especially loved gardening and his dog, Tippy. He is survived by his daughter, Janet Nickerson of Lincoln; a son, Stephen Campbell of Dexter; three brothers, Richard Lancaster and his wife, Betty, of Bradford, Albion Smith and his wife, Paula, of Hudson, Fla., and Galen Smith and his wife, Joann, of Dunkirk, N.Y.; a sister, Grace Willey of Millinocket; several nieces and nephews. Darrell was predeceased by a sister, Rita Wiggett. Graveside memorial services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 21, 2004, at the Village Cemetery in Corinna, with Pastor Timothy Shaw officiating. Arrangements are by the Thompson Funeral Home, 30 St. Albans Road, Corinna.
