BUCKSPORT – David A. Kettell, 68, died Dec. 13, 2005, at a Bangor hospital. He was born Aug. 28, 1937, in Bucksport, son of Hjalmar and Ruth (Allison) Kettell. He graduated from Bucksport High School in 1955. He worked for 21 years at Martin Supply Co., and retired from Laborers Union International No. 1377, Brewer. A collector, he enjoyed antiquing and going to yard sales. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed trout fishing, hunting, and cutting wood. He is survived by his mother, Ruth (Allison) Kettell of Bucksport; five children, Michael Kettell and his wife, Susan, of Bucksport, Eric Kettell and his wife, Sharon, of Bucksport, Karen Kettell and her fiance, Allan Gordon Jr., of Frankfort, Jonathan Kettell of Bucksport, Lisa Kettell of Bucksport; his brother, Alfred Kettell and his wife, Lisa, of Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Kevin, Kyle, Crystal, David, Trevor, Casey, Teddi, Jaylene, Jaymee-Lynn, Amanda, Brian, Meagan, Daniel, Christopher, Jill, Markus, Melisa, and Adam Gilbert; three great-grandchildren, two nieces, Lara Kettell and Anna Kettell; special cousins, Avis Black and Betty Peters; two former sons-in-law, Dana Pye and Jamie Thomas; many friends including Bob Norton, Stan Bennett Jr., and Don Jewett. He was predeceased by his father, Hjalmar Kettell in 1980. Graveside services will be announced in the spring by Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, 28 Elm St., Bucksport. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the EMMC Cardiac Unit, care of Eastern Maine Charities, P.O. Box 404, Bangor, ME 04401-0404.
