EAST MILLINOCKET – David A. McAdam, 63, passed away April 20, 2008, at Villagers for Hospice, Lady Lake, Fla. He was born April 15, 1945, in East Millinocket, the son of Charles and Melvena (Hunter) McAdam. He was a graduate of Schenck High School and was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. After completing his military service, he worked for Great Northern Paper Co., and retired from Katahdin Paper Co. During his years of retirement he and his wife, Marlene, went on many travels throughout the U.S., deciding to spend winters in Lady Lake, Fla. Some of David’s fondest memories were spending time with friends and family in Maine, Prince Edward Island and Florida. He entertained us all with his sweet charm and the beautiful music from his harmonica. David had 30 years fellowship with Bill W. and was a member of Donald V. Henry Post No. 80, American Legion, Millinocket. In addition to his mother, Melvena McAdam of East Millinocket, David will be deeply missed by his wife, Marlene; his daughter, Faith McAdam and her friend, Brent Carmichael, of Houlton; two brothers, Kenney and his wife, Reni, and Gene and his wife, Shirley, all of East Millinocket; three sisters, Janet Boynton of East Millinocket, Lorraine Ridge and her husband, Ralph, of Indiana and Patty Trainor and her husband, David, of Millinocket; a sister-in-law, Jackie McAdam of Millinocket; a grandson, Casey Carmichael of Houlton; seven stepchildren, Jesse Taylor, Kenny Knapp, Shorey Ewing, Lon Clark, Stacy Clark, Cory Clark and Darcy Fox; stepgrandchildren, Brad, Aaron, Shelisha, Ian, Samantha, Jonathan and his “little angels,” Isabelle, Priscilla, Jacob, Kaydence and Andrew; several special nieces, nephews and cousins, including his “buddy,” Nick. David will also be missed by his mother-in-law, affectionately known as “Memere,” Ann Marie Michaud of Millinocket; and many, many special friends. He was predeceased by his father, Charles McAdam; a brother, Robert McAdam; and a brother-in-law, Bill Boynton. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday, May 10, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 58 Cedar St., East Millinocket, with the Rev. Joel Cyr, pastor, presider. Interment with military honors will be after at East Millinocket Cemetery.
