FRANKLIN – David A. Bickford, 58, beloved husband, father and grand-father, died peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family, Aug. 30, 2005. He was born Dec. 9, 1946, in Ellsworth, the son of Russell W. and Lillian (Tracy) Bickford. He graduated from Stratford High School in Connecticut in 1965. David was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving honorably in Vietnam. He was an electrical supply salesman for 25 years, ending his career with Gilman Electric. He was an avid fisherman and spent many wonderful hours fishing with his best friend Roggie. He was a member of the Franklin Baptist Church. David is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Sharon (Scott) Bickford; one daughter, Stephanie J. Moores and husband, Todd, of Eastbrook; two sons, Russell W. Bickford II and wife, Crystal, and Adam J. Bickford, all of Franklin; one brother, Russell T. Bickford and wife, Darlene of Bangor and two sisters, Jane Alexander of Brooks and Faye Trafton and husband, Dennis, of Lagrange; four grandchildren, Russell “Trey” W. Bickford III, Madelyn E. Bickford, David W. Moores and Emma Jean Moores; also his very special sister-in-law, Cindy Roggenback and husband, Roggie, of Brunswick and mother-in-law, Christine Tobin; two sister-in-laws, Beverly Kraycar and Marsha Mereneda, all of North Carolina and his beloved dog, Penny. David felt blessed that he had such a close, loving family and caring friends. He wanted everyone to know what a full and rich life he had. He also felt very blessed to have received such wonderful care from the ICU Nurses at Maine Coast Memorial Hospital and Hospice of Hancock County. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, 2005, at the Franklin Baptist Church, Franklin.
