BANGOR – David Ernest Gagner, 53, died Sept. 30, 2007, at a Bangor hospital. He graduated from Woodland High School in 1972. He worked for Georgia Pacific paper mill, Baileyville and in Fort Bragg, Calif., for years. He was a very popular taxi driver for many years in Bangor until his health forced him to retire. David was an avid fisherman and pulled a good many bass, perch, pickerel and trout from his beloved St. Croix River water shed. David liked to do carpentry work, he liked music and talking to his friends on CB radio. He was an avid Red Sox fan. David was predeceased by his father, “Sam” Ernest Gagner. David leaves behind his mother, Lois Gagner; brothers, Frank and wife, Vicky, Jeff and wife, Patti, both of Baileyville; sister, Janice Beattie and husband, Ross, of Florida; his loving wife, Sandra of Bangor; as well as many nieces, nephews, stepchildren; and a special buddy, Norman Small of Bangor. David loved his Savior Jesus. This love was evident in the way he treated and cared for people throughout his adult life. The family thanks Dr. Pellegrini, Laura Huckestein, and all the nurses and staff at Eastern Maine Medical Center, Cardiac Care Unit, for the wonderful love and care that was shown David and his family. A future graveside service is being planned and will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in David’s name to Northeast Organ Bank, Bangor, or a charity of one’s choosing. Arrangements are under the care of Direct Cremation of Maine, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast.
