STONINGTON – Dawn L. Robbins, 67, wife of the late Norman B. Robbins, died Thursday, Nov. 20, 2003, at a Deer Isle healthcare facility. She was born Feb. 17, 1936, in Stonington, the daughter of Bradley L. and Mary J. (Scott) Sawyer. Dawn attended local schools and was the spelling champion of Hancock County during the school year of 1948-49. For many years, she was a reservationist at the Keeper’s House Bed and Breakfast on Isle Au Haut. Dawn studied genealogy, and knew much about the history of Island families, and traced her own family history back to the Mayflower. She is survived by a son, Steven Robbins and his wife, Rosalie; two grandchildren, Jason Robbins and his wife, Torri, all of Stonington, and Haley McDonald and her husband, Jason, of Deer Isle; three great-grandchildren, Corey Robbins, Adeline and Jillian McDonald; and several cousins. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, 2003, at the Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, Main St., Stonington, with Harry Vickerson officiating.
