BANGOR – Dean Laurence Colby, 54, of Bangor, passed away un-expectedly June 15, 2004, at his home. Dean was born Feb. 27, 1950, in Belfast, the son of Marie (Dean) and Laurence Colby. Dean was a graduate of Belfast Area High School and then served four years with the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. Dean worked for the First Student Bus Service, a job that he really loved. He also worked for Penquis C.A.P. and the Maine Forest Service. Dean was a mason and a member of the Liberty Lodge No. 111. He is survived by his son, Allen Colby of Old Town; close companion, Loretta Bailey; his sisters, Janice and Wayne Tenney, and Pauline and Carl Hodges. Dean was predeceased by his parents. A Masonic memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 19, at the Liberty Lodge, Liberty. Arrangements are under the care of the Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast.
