LINCOLN – Delilah M. McLaughlin, 84, died peacefully May 7, 2005, at her home, in the care of her family. Delilah was born May 13, 1920, in Medway, the daughter of David and Evelina Ward. She resided in Lincoln for the past 33 years. Her hobbies included knitting and her favorite – quilting. She made many quilts for her family and friends. She also loved visiting and playing games and cards with her friends at Mattanawcook Housing where she lived for 31 years. She was a member of the Nazarene Church in East Millinocket and also attended the Church of the Nazarene in Lincoln for many years. She also belonged to the Penobscot Valley Hospital Auxiliary for a number of years. She is survived by seven children, Evelyn Suitter and her husband, Leland, of Westbrook, Judy Perogino and her husband, Lenny, of West Enfield, David McLaughlin of Milo, Barbara Hayes and her husband, Richard, of Stacyville, Elliott McLaughlin and his wife, Laurie, of Medway, Suellen McManis of Alton and Roger McLaughlin and his wife, Gail, of Medway; 25 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren; she also leaves behind a very good friend, Kay Kennedy of Lincoln. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Roger McLaughlin; two sons, Gilbert and Anthony; two grandsons, Scott Bates and John Pelkey; two granddaughters, Wanda Suitter and Mariah McLaughlin; two sisters, Lillian Henio and Margaret McLaughlin; and two brothers, Ervin and Fred Ward. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, May 21, at the Church of the Nazarene, East Millinocket. Interment will be in the Medway Cemetery beside her husband and son.
