PRESQUE ISLE – Delmar W. Condon, 80, died Aug. 14, 2007, at a Pres-que Isle health care facility. He was born Sept. 22, 1926, in Mapleton, the son of Harry and Elizabeth (Nedeau) Condon. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Dee was an active and a long time member of Bethany Baptist Church, Presque Isle. He ser-ved on the board of deacons for more than 52 years, was a Sunday school teacher and had served as the president of the church several times. Dee’s service to his church extended statewide, to serving on the American Baptist Church, USA General Board and was a past president of the American Baptist Churches of Maine. He started Condon’s Candies in 1955, wholesaling candy to stores throughout Aroostook County, retiring in 1992. Surviving him is his wife, Ethel (Ireland) Condon of Presque Isle; two sons and their wives, Terry and Jeannette Condon of Fort Fairfield and Steve and Becky Condon of Presque Isle; a daughter and her husband, Marcia and Jonathan Graves of Windham; nine grandchildren, Meaghen Kenney, Jacob Condon, Kim Condon, Miranda Condon, Kate Condon, Shalyn Graves, Chelsey Graves, Taylor Graves and Riley Graves; two great-grand-sons, Wyatt and Maxwell Kenney; a brother, Darwin Condon of Presque Isle; sisters, Geraldine Higgins of Presque Isle and Audrey Graham of Washburn; several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call 7-9 p.m. Thursday, at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. James Ackerson officiating. Interment will be at Estes Park Cemetery, Easton.
