PRESQUE ISLE – Mr. Delmer H. Embelton, 70, passed away May 9, 2008, at Aroostook Medical Center, Presque Isle. He was the husband of Marie (McCarthy) Embelton. Born in 1938, in California Settlement, New Brunswick, he was a son of the late Grafton LeRoy and Kathleen (McCarthy) Embelton. Delmer was a 3rd Degree member of Knights of Columbus with 20 years of service. He was a retired Presque Isle police officer. After retirement he worked as a SAD No. 1 school bus driver, deputy sheriff and school crossing guard. He was a 40-year member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. He loved family, friends, golfing, the Red Sox, woodworking, puttering around the house, putting on meals and especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife; four children, Michael and Mary of Middleboro, Mass., Hubert and Cindy of Hermon, Todd and Rhonda of Squapan Lake and Della Grass and Troy of Mars Hill; 15 grandchildren, Teonna, Shane, Jared, Kyle, Devin, Kara, Carter, Rebecca, Delaney, Matthew, Kristen, Mackayla, Jordyn, Chandler and Melisa; three great-grandchildren, Hayden, Jacob and Abbie; two sisters, Norma Langer and Maxine Theriault of Ocala, Fla.; as well as nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by an infant daughter, Lana; and three brothers, Norris, William and Leigh. Resting with visiting hours 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Atlantic Standard Time Tuesday at O’Regan’s Funeral Home, 515 Everard Daigle Blvd., Grand Falls, New Brunswick. His funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 14, at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, Grand Falls – Portage, New Brunswick, with Father Gilbert Daddatto officiating. Interment will be at the adjoining cemetery.
