WYTOPITLOCK and MILLINOCKET – Delorosa K. (Cottle) Crawford Ellis, 88, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, passed away at a Patten healthcare facility on Saturday, Jan. 17, 2004. She was born Nov. 23, 1915, in Drew Plantation, the daughter of Harry and Flora Elizabeth (Wood) Cottle. While a resident in Wytopitlock, she was very active in many different civic capacities, including serving on the town beautification committee. She played an important part in the implementation of the Wytopitlock Memorial Roll Monument. Two of her favorite hobbies were cooking and gardening. Dot was a devote Catholic who enjoyed her church. She attended St. Peter’s Catholic Church in East Millinocket, while residing in the Millinocket area. Grammy Dot was so proud of her family, and always looked forward to family gatherings and events. She was predeceased by her first husband, Percy Crawford; her second husband, Eugene Ellis; a grandson, Harry James “Chuggy” Crawford; two brothers, Adrian and Eugene Cottle; and a dear niece, Victoria Potter. She will be sadly missed by her five children, daughter and special son-in-law, Joan and Victor Hanington of Millinocket; daughter, Janice and husband, Willis Wilcox, of Bangor; three sons, Harry and wife, Doreen Crawford, of Wytopitlock, Dale and wife, Donna Crawford, of Drew Plantation, and Robin and wife, Lois Crawford, of Lincoln; two brothers, Everett and wife, Donna Cottle, of Macwahoc, and Fletcher and wife, Margaret Cottle, of East Millinocket; 18 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren, including a special great-grandson, Adam; and five great-great-grandchildren, the last, Lilly Victoria Knowlton, being born on the day of her passing; and several nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind a special family of friends and staff who became important to her at Mountain Heights Healthcare Facility. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 19, at R. L. Bouchard Funeral Home, 17 Western Avenue, East Millinocket where St. Anne’s Circle Daughters of Isabella will recite the rosary at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2004, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, East Millinocket.
