BRADLEY – Denise M. King, 48, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2005, at a Bangor nursing facility, surrounded by her family and friends after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born Oct. 26, 1956, in Old Town, daughter of the late George L. and Dorothy M. (Braley) King. Denise was raised in Old Town, and graduated from Old Town High School, Class of 1975. She enjoyed arts and crafts and shopping, especially if it was for her grandchildren whom she adored. She loved animals including her special dog and friend, “Tika”. Denise was a teacher at Head Start in Bangor, for three years. She is survived and will be sadly missed by her loving and dedicated husband of 10 years, George F. King, who cared for her unconditionally throughout her illness; daughter, Jessica Bryant, of New Hampshire; son, Jason Bryant and his wife, Danielle, of Holden; three grandchildren, Jada, Kaleb, and Kaitlyn; sister, Jacqueline Gardner, of North Carolina; sister, Sharon LaFlamme and her husband, Bill, of Old Town; sister, Penny Halberstadt and her husband, John, of Pennsylvania; father-in-law, Eddie King of Old Town; mother-in-law, Carol St. Peter and her husband, George, of Bangor; sister-in-law, Nancy King, of Old Town; brother-in-law, Mark King, of Florida; brother-in-law, Eddie King Jr. and his wife, Karen, of Georgia; sister-in-law, Bev Pawlendzio and her husband, Frank, of Eddington; sister-in-law, Heather Melanson of Bangor. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by two brothers, Douglas King and Donald King; brother-in-law, Pete Gardner. A Celebration of Life will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday at the Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town, with the Rev. Bruce Stevens officiating. Committal will be held at Lawndale Cemetery in Old Town immediately following the service.
