HOULTON – Donald A. Hagan, 80, passed away Dec. 6, 2007, after a long illness. He was born Jan. 2, 1927, in Houlton, the son of Fred P. and Mildred (Hotham) Hagan. Donald grew up on his family farm in Cary’s Mill, graduated from Houlton High School, and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. After the war, he returned to Houlton, where he became a successful and innovative potato farmer. Donald is survived by his wife, Carletta; sister, Carol Howe and her husband, Philip; sister-in-law, Helen Hagan; two sons, Gary and his wife, Margaret Hagan, and Michael and his wife, Ann Hagan; grandchildren, Hannah (Hagan) Wilde, Patrick, Peter, Christopher and Jamison Hagan; several nieces and nephews. At the family’s request private services will be held at Dunn Funeral Home. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery, Houlton. Friends may make gifts in Donald’s memory to Southern Aroostook Soil & Water Conservation District, the Salvation Army or the charity of one’s choice, care of Dunn Funeral Home, 11 Park St., Houlton, ME 04730.
