OLD TOWN and VAN BUREN – Donald B. Foley, 25, died unexpectedly Monday, March 7, 2005, after a long illness at a Bangor hospital. He was born June 26, 1979, in Presque Isle, the son of Robert J. and Priscilla G. (Ryan) Foley. With the assistance of his family, friends, nurses, doctors, teachers, and God, it was believed to be an accomplishment that he had survived to the age of 25. He was very proud to have become a member of the Old Town Knights of Columbus Council 2537. He had recently completed his 2nd and 3rd Degrees in the Knights of Columbus. Donald attended and graduated the Old Town Regional Program in 1999. He was active in Special Olympics and achieved several Olympic medals. He was a member of Holy Family Parish of Old Town. He was very patriotic and proud of his country. Donald had a strong faith and belief in his God and always smiled when he was in the presence of clergymen. He loved everyone for the person that they were inside. The family would like to send a sincere thank you to all agencies who touched Donald’s life, as there are so many to mention, for their unconditional love, support, and care extended to our son and brother. The family would like to especially thank the EMMC doctors and nurses who provided care to Donald and to Dr. Bruce Brown for his continued support. Donald is survived by his parents of Old Town; his brother, Chad Foley and his fianc?e, Linda Cadrin, of Bangor; special niece, Alyssa Foley; paternal grandmother Josephine Foley of Old Town; special aunt, Linda Compton of Alexandria, La.; several other special aunts, uncles, and cousins; and special friend, Nicole Foley. He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Robert E. Foley; his maternal grandparents, Donald and Gilberte Ryan; and special aunt, Barbara Ryan. Friends may call Thursday, 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town, where members of the Old Town Knights of Columbus, Father Druillette Council 2537, will gather for prayers at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday, at Holy Family Parish, Old Town, with the Rev. Normand Richard Celebrant. A luncheon and continued fellowship will follow the service in the parish hall. Spring burial will be announced at a later date.
