VAN BUREN – Donald C. Lapointe, 65, died unexpectedly Feb. 13, 2008, at his Wright Street residence. He was born Oct. 21, 1942, in Van Buren, the son of Ovide and Gladys (St. Pierre) Lapointe. Don was employed in various occupations during his lifetime, but mostly as a scrap metal dealer, a venture he thoroughly enjoyed. He was a former member of Van Buren Fire Department. Don is survived by his wife, Joan (Gagnon) Lapointe of Van Buren; two sons, Kevin Lapointe and his wife, Tina, and Ryan Lapointe and his companion, Kelly, all of Van Buren; three daughters, Lisa Caron and her husband, Don, Donna Gagnon and her companion, Bill Laplante, and Rhonda Parent and her husband, Brian, all of Van Buren; two brothers, Ronald Lapointe and his wife, Marianne, of Holden, and Robert Lapointe and his wife, Micheline, of Van Buren; five sisters, Stella Violette and her husband, Clarence, of Van Buren, Helen Page and her husband, Fred, of Caribou, Janet Roy and her husband, Gilman, of Van Buren, Leila Dufour and her husband, Dave, of Cyr Plantation, and Robertine Parent and her husband, Jim, of Glastonbury, Conn.; 14 grandchildren, Mindy and Brandy Lapointe, Jessica, Casie and Lance Caron, Joni, Clint and Trisha Gagnon, Nicki, Devin and Kaitlin Parent, Shawna, Dominic and Logan Lapointe. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one brother, Percy Lapointe. Relatives and friends may call 6-8 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. Saturday until time of service at Ouellette-Thibault Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church. In accordance with his wishes, please omit flowers.
