SOLDIER POND and FORT KENT – Donald Daigle, 54, died Jan. 26, 2004, at a Bangor hospital. He was born Jan. 21, 1950, in Eagle Lake, the son of Aldrie and Juliet (Lozier) Daigle. Don was a past member of the C.O.F. and third degree Knights of Columbus council No. 1934 of Fort Kent. He was also a member of the NEA, MEA and the NATA. He was a special education teacher for 30 years at the Fort Kent Community High School SAD No. 27. During those years he coached basketball, and track and field. In 2002, he received the Who’s Who Among Teachers Award. Don was also involved in the Winter Carnival Community at F.K.C.H.S. Don will be missed by his family, friends, colleagues and especially by all his students whom he cherished and adored. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle with Francoise, fishing, bird hunting, playing cards and especially the summer months at his camp in Eagle Lake. He is survived by his beloved wife of 11 years, Francoise (Vienneau) Daigle of Soldier Pond; his father, Aldrie and special friend, Bernadette Daigle, of Fort Kent; his daughter, Melanie and her husband, Danny Esqueda; three grandchildren, Olivia, Sophia and Danny Jr., all of New Braunfels, Texas; mother and father-in-law, Gerald and Bie Vienneau of Edmunston, New Brunswick; two brothers-in-law, Bob and his family of St. Leonard, New Brunswick, and Mickey and Janelle and their family of Edmunston, New Brunswick; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his mother, Juliet Daigle in 1994; two brothers; and two sisters. Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. until time of service Thursday at the Daigle & Nadeau Funeral Home in Fort Kent. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday at the St. Louis Catholic Church in Fort Kent with the Rev. Bill Labbe officiating. Spring burial will be held May 21, 2004, in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Soldier Pond. In Don’s memory those who wish may donate to the Special Olympics/Jeffrey Coon care of Maine State Police, P.O.
