BANGOR and WALLINGFORD, Conn. – Donna R. (Moody) Washburn passed away Nov. 3, 2006, at a Bangor hospital. She was born May 10, 1942, in Monroe, the daughter of Wilmot V. and Leither (Wildes) Moody. She graduated from Morse Memorial High School, Brooks. Donna was a lifelong resident of Wallingford, Conn., where she worked and cared for her family. As a woman who battled chronic obstructive pulmonary disease the last eight years of her life, she died so with great courage and commitment to her family and friends. She enjoyed playing with her granddaughter, Sarah and playing cards with all her friends. Donna is survived by her daughter, Jamie D. Owens and son-in-law, Joseph Owens; and her special granddaughter, Sarah, all of Fort Fairfield; her sister, Maxine Clements and her husband, Fred, of Monroe; brothers, Paul Moody and his wife, Sharon, of Troy, Larry Moody and his wife, Maria, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and her younger sister, Nancy Cunningham and her husband, Raymond, of Carmel. Donna was predeceased by her husband of 40 years, James A. Washburn; and her parents. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, at the Monroe Community Church, Monroe.
