CHARLESTON – Dorene “Dot” M. Allen, 70, died peacefully Nov. 27, 2006, surrounded by her family at home after a long courageous battle with cancer. She was born Sept. 10, 1936, in Springfield, the daughter of Manzer and Elvina (Gray) Woodard. Dot enjoyed puzzles, watching TV and playing cards. She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Carl F. Allen; two daughters, Dee and her husband, Dave Boudreau, and Lorna and her husband, Sean Sevigny; one son, Tim Ward; a brother, Roger Woodard; sisters, Joyce Davis, Betty Hazlett, Althea Wheaton, Leola Pearl, Nancy Woodard and Audrey Bickford; nine grandchildren, four great-grand-children, many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by a son, James R. Ward Sr.; brothers, Lewis, Carl, Donald and Kenneth Woodard; a sister, Mildred Ward. There will be a service 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, at Charleston Baptist Church with a burial and a celebration of Dot’s life at her daughter’s house in Charleston, immediately after the service.
