BANGOR – Doris M. Graham, 90, wife of the late Charles L. Peabody, who was killed in World War II and the late Halden F. Graham, died Nov. 22, 2005. She was born Oct. 24, 1915, in Presque Isle, the daughter of W. Frank and Mamie (Mersereau) Gardiner. Doris was a graduate of Houlton High School, Class of 1933. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bangor and a former member of Portia Rebekah Lodge No. 78 of Houlton for several years. She is survived by one daughter, Nancy Peabody Penhune of Vineyard Haven, Mass.; three grandchildren, Virginia, James and Sarah Penhune; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husbands, she was predeceased by two brothers, Frank and Byron Gardiner. A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 26, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, with the Rev. Stephanie Salinas, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Bangor, officiating. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Houlton. Gifts in her memory may be sent to a charity of one’s choice.
