SHERMAN – Dorothy A. Pokorny, 77, died Nov. 12, 2007, in Houlton. She was born April 25, 1930, in Porchester, N.Y., the daughter of Daniel and Rose (Herba) Keenan. Dot was a member of St. Ben-edict’s Catholic Church and sodality. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Joseph Pokorny Sr. of Sherman; four children, Karen Pokorny of Freeport, N.Y., Joseph Pokorny Jr. of Sherman, Hugh Pokorny of Benedicta and Marie Perron of Springvale; and six grandchildren. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Bowers Funeral Home, Island Falls. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Benedicts Catholic Church, Benedicta, with Father Joel Cyr, celebrant. Interment will be at Sherman Mills Cemetery.
