DOROTHY I. QUINN MACHIAS – Dorothy I. Quinn, 94, passed away at a local healthcare facility June 30, 2004, after an extended illness. She was born Aug. 10, 1909, in Bucks Harbor, the daughter of the late Captain Willard A. and Ella L. (Snyder) Johnson. Dorothy spent most of her life taking care of her family, working as a homemaker. She also worked at several local factories. She was a member of the Bucks Harbor Baptist Church, superintendent of Sunday school, and a member of the Bucks Harbor Grange. She is survived by her two daughters, Betty Davis and husband, Daniel, and Faye Ryan and special friend, Orrin White; grandchildren, Gary Renshaw, Jimmy Ryan and wife, Kathy, and Lana Ryan and friend, Bill Johnson; four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Irving “Duke” Quinn in 1983 and two grandchildren. Visitation will take place 6-8 p.m. Thursday, July 1, 2004, at Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, Machias. A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Friday, July 2, 2004, at the funeral home, with Pastor Bill Dodge presiding. Burial will immediately follow in Bucks Harbor.
