EAST MILLINOCKET – Dorothy L. “Dot” Chasse, 53, passed away peacefully Sunday, Aug. 27, 2006, at her home in East Millinocket. She was born April 15, 1953, in Millinocket, the daughter of Kenneth and Theresa (Michaud) Osborne. Dot was educated in East Millinocket schools, graduating from Schenck High School, Class of 1971. On July 15, 1972, she married Ronald Chasse of East Millinocket and together they shared over 34 years of marriage. Dot began working at the East Millinocket Public Library in 1988, eventually becoming head librarian. She also served on the school board for the East Millinocket school department. Dot was a communicant and volunteer at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, East Millinocket. She enjoyed many hobbies and collections, most especially knitting, yard-saling and spending time with her children and grandchildren. In recent years, she enjoyed traveling with her husband and family and looked forward to taking more trips. In addition to her husband, Ronnie; and her parents of East Millinocket, Dot is survived by four children, Ronald Chasse Jr. and wife, Carrie, of Gorham, Jennifer Chasse-Fernald and husband, Jason, of St. Simons Island, Ga., Kevin Chasse and wife, Jill, of Haverhill, Mass., and Amy Chasse and fianc?, Adam Yeo, of Searsport; three grandchildren, Caitlin, Justin and Gabrielle Chasse; four brothers, Ross Osborne and wife, Linda, Thomas Osborne and wife, Karlene, Kenneth Osborne II and wife, Sally and Patrick Osborne and wife, Melanie; five sisters, Elizabeth Larlick and husband, Edward, Susan Sickler and companion, Jack Ivers, Nancy McCoy and husband, Patrick, Sandy Deschaine and husband, Ervin, and Margaret Popp and husband, Mike; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by a sister, Beverly Osborne. Friends are invited to visit with the family 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Bouchard-Lamson Funeral Home, 17 Western Ave., East Millinocket. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 31, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 58 Cedar St., East Millinocket, with the Rev. Joel Cyr pastor, presider.
