BREWER – Dorothy Mae Wilkinson, 89, passed away peacefully Friday, April 20, 2007, at Orono Commons, where she was a resident for the past week. Dorothy was dedicated to her home and family. In years past, she was a very active member of her community and church in both Dedham and Brewer. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, needlework, was an avid reader and a well-known seamstress for many years. Dorothy was predeceased by her husband, Leigh S. Wilkinson Sr., February 1987. She is survived by her children, Fred Webster and his wife, Pam, of Holden, Ed Wilkinson of Torrington, Conn., Donna Perry of Marietta, Ga., and Leigh S. Wilkinson and his wife, Cheryl, of Winthrop; eight grandchildren, Christopher, William, James, Scott, Sean, Leigh III, Amie and Robert; and five great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to call 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, April 24, at Brookings-Smith, Clark-Piper Chapel, 55 South Main St., Brewer, where funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 25, with the Rev. Richard Tardiff, Rector of St. John’s Episcopal Church, South West Harbor, officiating. Dorothy will be buried alongside her husband, Leigh Sr. at Woodlawn Cemetery, Brewer.
