SANTA ROSA, Calif. – Dorothy P. Staples, 85, passed away April 1, 2006, in Santa Rosa, Calif. Dorothy moved to Santa Rosa in 1993, following the death of her husband, to be closer to family. For 24 years, she was a department manager for W. T. Grant. A member of the Methodist Church, she was also a former member of the Rebekah Lodge in Maine. Her family was the center of her life, and she will be missed. Beloved wife of the late Herman Staples; loving mother of David Staples, M.D. and his wife, Charlene, of Santa Rosa, Calif., and the late Maxine King; adored grandmother of Heather Staples and her husband, Mike Carlson, of Tiburon, Calif., Audrey Staples and her husband, Will Richardson, of Truckee, Calif., James Staples of Santa Cruz, Calif., and Michael King, Brian King and Lisa Crosby and her husband, Bob, of Maine; great-grandmother of Ryan and Annika Carlson of Tiburon, Eric and Ryan King, T.J. Bishop and Jason Crosby, all of Maine; great-great-grandmother of Cassidy King of Maine. She is also survived by two nieces in Maine.
