HANCOCK – Ruth Carlisle Dunbar, 83, wife of Harold D. Dunbar, passed away May 11, 2006, peacefully at home. She was born Aug. 10, 1922, in Brewer, the daughter of Lester F. and Alice (Smith) Carlisle. Ruth graduated from Ellsworth High School, Class of 1939 and Maine School of Commerce. She was employed at Union Trust Co. and then as a bookkeeper for Hancock County Creamery for more than 25 years. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Harold; god-daughter, Brenda Fletcher Jordan of Waltham; brother, Lester F. Carlisle and wife, Madelyn, of Orrington; one niece, Nancy Dudley and husband, Paul; great-nephew, Brandon Dudley, all of Lawrenceville, Ga.; nephew, Brian E. Carlisle and wife, Cindy; one great-niece, Jillian Carlisle; great-nephews, Broc and Timothy Carlisle, all of Newburgh; several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Ralph and Jackie Dunbar, Al and Mary Bedard, Keith and Marilyn Dunbar, Jim and Cookie Patten and Wes and Kathie Cook. At Ruth’s request there will be no visiting hours or funeral service. Gifts in her memory may be made to the Ronald McDonald House, 645 State St., Bangor, ME 04401.
