CASWELL and OXBOW – Douglas L. Fleming, 52, died peacefully Oct. 9, 2005, at his Caswell residence after a long illness. He was born Feb. 19, 1952, in Ashland, the son of Sherman and Muriel (Paul) Fleming. He was a graduate of Ashland High School and was an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War. Doug was employed as a long distance truck driver for 30 years. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Donna (Knight) Fleming of Caswell; three sons, Daniel Fleming and his wife, Amber, Allen Fleming and David Fleming, all of Caswell; a former daughter-in-law, Lisa Jencks of Caswell; one grandson, Sherman L. Fleming of Caswell; five sisters, Mary Rhinebolt and Sheila Tilley, both of Washburn, Edith Smith and Lisa Smart, both of Ashland, and Jackie Didion of Stroudsburg, Pa. In addition to his parents, Doug was predeceased by infant twin brothers, Tom and John Fleming. Relatives and friends may call 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Stimson-Ouellette Funeral Home, 114 Exchange St., Ashland. A graveside committal service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14, at the Willard Cemetery, Oxbow.
