CARIBOU – E. Iona Dickinson, 90, wife of the late Kenneth Dickinson, died July 16, 2005, at Van Buren. She was born at Dover Foxcroft, June 12, 1915, the daughter of Charles and Harriet (Tabor) Miller. Iona was a graduate of the Caribou High School, Class of 1934. She lived in Caribou most of her life and was a member of the Caribou United Baptist Church and the First Baptist Church of Woodland. She had a lifetime hobby of cooking and sewing, especially making quilts. Iona is survived by four sons, Melvin Dickinson and his wife, Evelyn, of Orange, Calif., Darrell Dickinson and his wife, Becky, of Jacksonville Beach, Fla., Gerald Dickinson of Caribou and Dana Dickinson of Presque Isle; one brother, Malcolm Miller of Bath; eight grandchildren, Lonnie Dickinson and Tammy Valasques, both of Colorado, David Dickinson and Sonja Gilbertson, both of Jacksonville, Fla., Lisa Dickinson of South Carolina, Nicki Dickinson of Presque Isle, Michele Tivnan of Jefferson, Mass., and Anthony Moore and his wife, Bobbi Jo, of Caribou; 13 great-grand-children, Justin, Jesse, Seth, Daniel, Leah, Erin, Caitlyn, Ryan, Rachel, Seth, Joseph, Sara and Anna Marie; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth, on March 22, 2001; two sons, Ronald Dickinson in 1979 and Roger Dickinson in 1981; a daughter, Brenda Dickinson in 1942; three sisters, Annetta Johnston, Beulah Johnston and Lola Johnston. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Friday at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, July 23, 2005, from the chapel of the Mockler Funeral Home, with the Rev. Otto Palmer, officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Caribou.
