FORT FAIRFIELD – E. Richard “Dick” Theriault, 54, husband of Linda M. R. Theriault died Monday morning, Jan. 24, 2005, at his Fort Fairfield residence following an extended illness. He was born Dec. 3, 1950, at Fort Kent, the son of Rosaire T. Sr. and Winnie (Madore) Theriault. Dick graduated from the Fort Fairfield High School in 1969 and was married to Linda M. R. Gorneault Nov. 26, 1971. He was a communicant of the St. Denis Catholic Church, Fort Fairfield and was a member of the Fort Fairfield Lions Club, the Fort Fairfield Snowmobile Club and was a past member of the Knights of Columbus, Council No. 1753, Fort Fairfield. Dick had been employed as a manager of the Loring Air Force Base Commissary for several years and had also been employed by the U.S. Postal Service as a letter carrier in Caribou since 1993. He had also served in the United States Army National Guard from 1969 to 1975. Dick was predeceased by his father. He is survived by his mother, Winnie Theriault of Fort Fairfield; his wife of 33 years, Linda M. R. Theriault of Fort Fairfield; two sons and daughters-in-law, Dwayne and Tammy (Levesque) Theriault of Casco, Jason and Christina (Martin) Theriault of Fort Fairfield; one brother and sister-in-law, Rosaire T. Jr. and Ann Theriault of Fort Fairfield; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Lucy and William Strout of Fort Fairfield, Donna and Peter LeVasseur of Titusville, Fla.; several nieces and nephews. Friends may call 6-9 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 27, 2005, at the Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main St., Fort Fairfield, friends may also call at the funeral home Friday, Jan. 28, 2005, from 10 a.m. until time of departure for the St. Denis Catholic Church, 147 Main St., Fort Fairfield, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Jean-Paul Labrie celebrant. Interment will take place at the St. Denis Catholic Cemetery, Fort Fairfield, later in the spring. A reception in Dick’s memory will be held at the VFW Paul Lockhart Post No. 6187, Presque Isle Street, Fort Fairfield, immediately following the funeral Mass. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mr. Theriault may be given to Hospice of Aroostook, P.O. Box 688, Caribou, ME 04736 or the Chan Center Oncology Dept., 163 Van Buren Road, Suite 1, Caribou, ME 04736. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
