FORT FAIRFIELD – E. Wendell Christensen, 91, husband of Bernadette Christensen, died unexpectedly April 18, 2007, as the result of an automobile accident in Presque Isle. He was born April 4, 1916, in Fort Fairfield, the son of Peter and Amelia (Larsen) Christensen. He was a graduate of the Fort Fairfield high school, had been employed as a railroad worker and a potato farmer, and for the Department of Human Services. Wendell enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He will be remembered as a gentle, loving man, who possessed boundless generosity and viewed every day as the perfect day. He will be dearly remembered by his family and friends. In addition to his parents, Wendell was predeceased by his first wife, Marie. He is survived by his wife, Bernadette of Fort Fairfield; one son, Tom Christensen and his wife, Melody, of Bath; one daughter, Lynn Gilbert of Dexter; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. In keeping with Wendell’s wishes, there will be no services at this time. Interment will take place later in the spring at Riverside Cemetery, Fort Fairfield. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may contribute in memory of Mr. Christensen to the County Dialysis Center, 21 North St., Presque Isle, ME 04769. Arrangements are in the care of Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, Fort Fairfield.
