BANGOR – Earl E. Rambo, 87, died May 30, 2006, at Maine Veterans’ Home, Bangor. He was born Aug. 14, 1918, in Philadelphia, Pa., the son of Morris and Marie (Tyson) Rambo. Earl served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1941-1947. He married the love of his life, Lois Adams, May 21, 1942. Over the years, Earl either owned or managed a variety of business serving the public, the last one being Rambo’s Store in Hampden. He enjoyed all types of music, but especially big band music. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Lois (Adams) Rambo of Bangor; two sons and their wives, William Rambo and Elizabeth of Otis, Richard Rambo and Jean of Gardiner; a very special sister-in-law, Joy West of Pennsylvania; four grandchildren, Matthew and his wife, Christine, Jennifer, Kimberly, Alex; and one great-granddaughter, Deirdre. Earl also leaves sisters-in-law, Dot, Alice, Elda; brother-in-law, Otis; and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday, June 1, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, June 2, with Jacqueline MacDermott, First Reader of the First Church of Christ, Scientist, Bangor. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Brookings-Smith Family Center, 163 Center St., Bangor, immediately after the service.
