CALAIS – Earle S. Forsyth, 82, died Thursday, July 29, 2004, at his residence. He was born July 17, 1922, in St. Stephen, New Brunswick, Canada, the son of Harry and Rachel (Vanstone) Forsyth. He was a World War II Canadian Army veteran. Earle was employed many years by the United Association Local No. 321 of Bangor. He was a member of St. Anne’s Episcopal Church of Calais. He was predeceased by a son, Peter, in 1986. Surviving are his wife, Helen (Johnston) Forsyth of Calais; two sons Gerald “Buddy” Forsyth of Toronto, Canada, Mark Forsyth and his wife, Ann Woodard, of Quinton, Va.; several nieces and nephews. Friends may call 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday, July 31, at the Scott-Wilson Funeral Home, Calais. A Canadian Veterans Service will be held 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. A Requiem Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 2, 2004, at St. Anne’s Episcopal Church, with the Rev. Lyman Harding celebrant, assisted by Sherry Sivret. Burial will be in the Calais Cemetery. Donations in his memory may be made to St. Anne’s Episcopal Church, PO. Box 988, Calais, ME 04619 or to the charity of one’s choice.
