SARASOTA, Fla. – Ruth Dorothea Applegate, 90, died July 27, 2004. She was born Feb. 18, 1914, in Cincinnati, Ohio, and came to the Sarasota area 29 years ago from Scarsdale, N.Y. She was a homemaker, a member of Church of the Palms-Presbyterian in Sarasota, Fla., and the Sarasota and Golden City Women’s Clubs. Survivors include her daughter, Ruth A. Hogan of Sarasota, Fla.; son, Oral L. Jr. (Heather) of Desert; a sister, Esther (Donald) Ball of Cincinnati, Ohio; three brothers, John (Vivian) Hensgen and George (Kitty) Hensgen, both of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Paul (Marilyn) Hensgen of Ocala, Fla.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Services and entombment will be in Sarasota, Fla. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O.
