FORT KENT – Edgar Honore Charette, 89, beloved husband of the late Elsie (Voisine) Charette, died April 11, 2007, at a Frenchville health care facility. He was born Aug. 25, 1917, in Fort Kent, the son of Pea and Catherine (Charette) Charette. Edgar worked for the Aroostook Federation of Farmers – Agway for 37 years. He also worked for the Civilian Conservation Corps at Acadia National Park during World War II. He was a jack of all trades, also an avid fisherman, family man with a very strong work ethic. He was a member of the AGape Christian Fellowship Church, Fort Kent. He is survived by his children, Theresa Sirois of Lewiston, Bernadette “Bunny” Berube of Fort Kent, Nancy Boisvert and her husband, Daniel, of Manchester, Conn., and Michael Charette of New Orleans; one brother, Ernest Charette of Fort Kent; and one sister, Madeline Desjardins of Wallingford, Conn.; 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. In addition to his late wife, Elsie, Edgar was predeceased by two children, Beatrice Sirois and Eldon Charette; two brothers, Armand and Percy Charette; and seven sisters, Delia Boucher, Edna Charette, Annette Morin, Dorothy Picard, Bernice Pelletier, Bernadette Charette and Mamie Clark. Friends may call 3 p.m. Friday until time of services at Daigle & Nadeau Funeral Home, Fort Kent. Funeral services will be held 4 p.m. Friday at Daigle & Nadeau Funeral Home, Fort Kent, with Pastor Matthew Carpenter officiating.
