GUILFORD – Edith E. Gray, 75, died Sept. 19, 2005, after a short illness. She was born March 12, 1930, in Guilford, the daughter of Claire and Theresa (Shannon) LaBree. She worked at several of the local textile mills in Eastport and in Guilford, and later worked for Pride Manufacturing Company in Guilford. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Guilford. She is survived by her domestic partner, Charles Foss Jr.; and her mother, both of Guilford; five children, Larry Gray and his wife, Gloria, of Virginia, Dana Gray and his wife, Rande, of Hollis, Reid Gray and his wife, Gwen, of Hollis, Susie Wentworth and her husband, Ivan, of Eastport, and Merle Gray Jr. and his wife, Christine, of Falmouth; two brothers, Robert LaBree of Connecticut and Rodney LaBree of Vermont; a sister, Marilyn Wharff of Guilford; many grandchildren and great- grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She will be sadly missed by her dog, Buddy. Edith’s children would like to recognize the sacrifices that their mother made in raising and caring for them. Charlie would like to recognize all those who cared for Edith before the time of her death, especially Sally Gray. A graveside memorial service will be held 1 p.m., Friday, Sept. 23, at the Abbot Village Cemetery, with Pastor A. Maurice Neal officiating. Arrangements by Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, Guilford.
