DEER ISLE – Edward A. Smith, 36, of Deer Isle, died unexpectedly Monday, Aug. 22. He is survived by his wife, Jean Smith; three children, Jessica, Johnathan, and Tabatha; and one grandchild, Madelyn, all of Deer Isle; mother, Ann Smith; brothers, Andrew and Richard of Cherryfield, Ted and wife, Audrey, of Penobscot, Michael of Chicopee, Mass., Scott and wife, Missy, of Trenton, William and wife, Sherrie, of Deer Isle; sisters, Marrianne Mulherin and husband, David Scott, of Puerto Rico, and Penny Kumiega and husband, Walter, of Deer Isle; nephews, Eric, BJ, Andy, Walter, and Michael and niece, Sophie, and lifelong friend, Scott McGuire. Memorial Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 3 at the Deer Isle Congregational Church. The Ed Smith Memorial Fund has been set up at the Bar Harbor Banking and Trust.
