NORTH ANSON – Edward “Joe” Ayotte Sr., 84, died Thursday July 29, 2004, at the Redington-Fairview General Hospital in Skowhegan. Joe was born March 17, 1920, in Van Buren, the son of Pierre and Elodie C. (Parent) Ayotte. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He moved to Mt. Vernon where he owned a farm for many years and later lived in North Anson where he retired from North Anson Reel Mill in 1984. He is survived by his wife, June (Beauchemin) Mclean Ayotte of North Anson; his 11 children; 23 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren, five step children; several step grandchildren; three step great-grandchildren; three sisters, Florence Dube of Bristol, Conn., Beatrice St. Pierre of Van Buren and Eva Ouelette of Van Buren. Visiting hours will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday Aug. 1, at Giberson Funeral Home, 40 Maple St., Madison. A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 2, at the Community United Methodist Church in North Anson.
