MILBRIDGE – Edward Lysle Rankin, 65, died Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2005, at a Milbridge healt-hcare facility. He was born July 4, 1940, in Penobscot, the son of Lysle and Fern (Dunbar) Rankin. Edward was a graduate of Bucksport High School, Class of 1958. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, during which time he served in the U.S. Navy. Edward enjoyed fishing, motorcycle riding, and playing and singing country music. He was a member of Felicity Lodge No. 19, AF & AM in Bucksport. Edward is survived by his mother, Fern (Dunbar) Rankin Libby of Orland; his wife, Truena “Tena” (Woodworth) Rankin of Milbridge; a son, Dennis Edward Rankin and his wife, Debra, of Luling, La.; two stepchildren, Angela Drake and her husband, Peter, of Holden and Jay Blakely and his wife, Kim, of Milford; six special grandchildren, Danielle and Dennis Edward Rankin Jr., Cameron Drake, Micheal Blakely, Carolan Jones and Ashton Blakely; a brother, Jeffrey Rankin and his wife, Cindy, of Bucksport; three sisters, Patricia Fournier and her husband, Ed, of Center Barnstead, N.H., Nettie Shields of Hermon, and Ellie Grey and her husband, Micheal, of Verona; and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. In addition to his father, Ed was predeceased by his stepfather, Frank “Bud” Libby; and his grandparents. Friends are invited to visit with the family 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, at Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, 47 Main St., Milbridge. Private interment will be at Front Ridge Cemetery, Orland.
