FRAMINGHAM, Mass. – Edward “Ted” Francis Leach, 84, a resident of Framingham for the past 50 years, formerly of Presque Isle, died Saturday, April 29, 2006, at the Metrowest Medical Center in Framingham after a brief illness. Born in Penobscot, he was the son of the late Earl R. and Nina (Grindle) Leach. He was the husband of 56 years to Bernice E. (Leighton) Leach of Framingham, Mass. Mr. Leach attended Penobscot schools and graduated from Husson College in Bangor. He served in the U.S. Army 323rd Field Artillery Battalion in Normandy, France and Central Europe from 1942, until his discharge in 1945. Mr. Leach was an executive secretary for the Maine Potato Council in Presque Isle, until he moved to Framingham where he had resided for the past 50 years. He also worked for Dennison Manufacturing Co. for 29 years until his retirement. He was a member of the Plymouth Congregational Church in Framing-ham where he served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher. In addition to his wife, Bernice; Mr. Leach is survived by his two children, Stephen A. Leach of Framingham, Mass. and Sally J. Walsh and her husband, Ken, of Blackstone; five grandchildren, Colleen and Kaitlyn Leach, both of Fram-ingham, Mass. and Michael, Kevin and Kymberly Walsh, all of Blackstone. He is also survived by his sister, Nancy Leach of Penobscot and James Leach of Bangor. He was the brother of the late Linwood, Pearl, George, and Earl Leach Jr. A memorial service will be held at a later date. At the family’s request there will be no funeral home visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in Mr. Leach’s memory may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701. Arrangements are under the direction of the Norton Funeral Home, 53 Beech St., (corner of Union Avenue) Framingham, Mass.
