BANGOR – Edwin ‘Butch’ Daniel Kidder passed away June 14, 2006, at a Bangor hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Bangor July 21, 1946. Butch served in the U.S. Army as a SPEC 4 in Vietnam. He worked for GE Steam Turbine from 1974 to 2006. He also struggled with multiple sclerosis for 30 years. Butch was a kind, loving, great man with a special twinkle in his eyes. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, reading and spending time with family and friends. He also loved listening to classic rock and roll music. He is survived by wife, Lois Melanson Kidder; son, Paul Kidder; brothers, Willis Gerrish Leavitt, of Niles, Mich., and James Kidder of Brewer; grandchildren, Mitchell and Andrew Kidder and their mother, Wendy, of Orrington; stepchildren, Debbie Davis and husband, Butch, Paul Melanson and wife, Valerie, and Mark Melanson; step-grandchildren, Jared, Justin, and Janelle Davis and Eric Melanson; special aunt, Kay Cousins of Hermon; very special friend, Jimmy Martin; life long friends, Maynard Baker and Mickey Hurd; and special co-workers, Scott Kien and Brian Brothers; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother, Dolly Kidder. At the request of Butch, there will be no visitation or services.
