EASTPORT – Edwin F. Earley Jr., 80, died Sunday, May 25, 2008, at Eastport Memorial Nursing Home, after a lengthy illness. Edwin was born June 2, 1927, in Paterson, N.J., son of the late Edwin Earley Sr. and Emma Shauger. After graduating high school, Edwin joined the U.S. Navy, serving with the Naval Seabee’s during World War II. After the war he attended Rutger’s University. Edwin was employed as a graphic artist for New York University and other various corporations. Upon retirement he relocated to Eastport in 1987. Edwin was an avid reader and enjoyed sailing, and repairing bikes for area children. Surviving are his brother, Daniel Earley and his wife, Helen, of Eastport; two sisters, Emma Aaroe and her husband, Donald, of New Jersey, and Dorothy Lorch of New Zealand; many nieces and nephews; and his special nephew and caretaker, Edwin Earley and his wife, Darbie, of Eastport. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
