SAINT AGATHA – Eglantine “Tina” Young, 87, passed away Jan. 7, 2006, in Fort Kent. Tina was originally from Grand-Isle. She is predeceased by her parents, Paul and Marie Sirois; her sister, Jean; and her brothers, Lucien, Bernard and Norman. She is survived by her sister, Marie-Paul Sirois of Saco; her daughter, Elizabeth Young of Wiscasset; her son, Steven Young and his wife, Janice, of Frenchville; her four grandchildren, Michael and Ian Halligan of Wiscasset and Samantha and Derek Young of Frenchville, several beloved nieces, nephews and relatives from the Nelson Family. Tina graduated from Saint Agatha High School and later attended Park’s School of Business in Denver, Colo. She worked as a clerk for Fraser Papers from 1940-1943, when she left to serve in the Navy during World War II. After serving in the Navy, Tina was employed doing clerical and secretarial work on Wall Street in New York City, Miami, Florida and Denver, Colo. She returned to northern Maine in 1952, and was again employed by Fraser Papers, where she met her husband, John “Jack” Young. Tina was later employed by the state as a secretary. Tina and Jack lived in Madawaska until they retired. In their later years, they resided in New Sweden and then Saint Agatha, where Tina continued to live after Jack’s passing in 1999. Tina had been living in Forest Hill Nursing Home in Fort Kent since April 2005. There will be a funeral Mass 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 13, at Saint Agatha Catholic Church, Saint Agatha.
