HOULTON – Eldora I. Cunliffe, 77, died Jan. 13, 2007, surrounded by her family at Madigan Health Care Facility, after a brief illness. She was born June 15, 1929, the daughter of Ora P. and Bernice (Tarbell) Mooers. Eldora graduated from Ricker Classical Institute, Houlton. She married Paul Cunliffe in 1947. They enjoyed square dancing, camping, traveling and spending their winters in Florida. They had 54 years together, until his death in 2002. Eldora worked for many years as an office manager of an automotive dealership in Connecticut. She was a member of the Houlton United Methodist Church, Houlton United Methodist Women, served as church treasurer and volunteered at Madigan Estates. She was always ready to help a friend in need and loved a good game of bridge with her many friends. Eldora is survived by three daughters, Vickie Jackson and her husband, Fred, of Hamden, Conn.; Kathy Semeraro and her husband, John, of Thomaston, Conn., and Pamela Hocking of Houlton; her grandchildren, Stacey Curtis and her husband, Adam, and Christopher Jackson, all of Meriden, Conn., Amy Hocking of Houlton, Thomas Semeraro of Boston, Matthew Semeraro and his wife, Angela, of Marietta, Ga., and Marnie Hudnall and her husband, Matthew, of Canton, Conn.; her great-grand-children, Hanna Sage Curtis, Connor Semeraro, Cameron and Lola Hudnall; her brother-in-law, Waldo Cunliffe of Houlton; also very special family friends, Phyllis West and her family, and Dora, Chris and Alex Andrei. She was predeceased by her husband, Paul; her parents; and her brother, Laurel. Friends may call 1-2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16, at Dunn Funeral Home, where services will be held 2 p.m. with the Rev. Naomi Sam’Kpakra officiating.
