HANCOCK – Eleanor A. Becht passed away peacefully Nov. 20, 2007, with her family by her side. She was born March 5, 1931, in Liberty Corner, N.J. Eleanor went to school and attended church in Liberty Corner, N.J. She graduated from Bernard’s High School in 1948 and worked for AT & T Co., New Jersey and in Bangor. Eleanor also volunteered at the National Heart Association and held many other part time positions in the Hancock community. She loved jazz music and watching cruise ships on Frenchmen’s Bay. Eleanor is survived by her husband, John; son, John III and his wife, Tina; and many cousins. At the family’s request, services will be private. Those who wish to remember Eleanor in a special way may make gifts in her memory to Bangor Humane Society, 693 Mount Hope Ave., Bangor, ME 04401. A service of Brookings-Smith, Bangor.
