EASTPORT – Eleanor B. Hooper, 82, died Dec 21, 2003, at Calais Regional Hospital. She was born Oct. 23, 1921, in Cambridge, Mass., and lived most of her life in Perry and Eastport. She was predeceased by her husband, Irving Hooper in 2001. She is survived by her three children, Phyllis Statz of Smithville, Mo., Marion MacArthur of Baileyville, and James Knowlton of Perry; six grandchildren; two great- grandchildren; several nieces and nephews that will surely miss her. She was a dear friend to the many who knew her. She was a beautician and for more than 30 years, and had her own beauty shop in Perry. She also retired from Calais Regional Hospital after many years as a housekeeper. Eleanor was a proud and active member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Post 558 in Eastport, and the American Legion Auxiliary, Cobscook Unit No. 59. She attended the North Perry United Methodist Church. Any donations to that church in her memory would be greatly appreciated. Memorial services will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 28, at Flagg’s Funeral Home in Eastport.
