BANGOR – Eleanor D. Thompson, 87, died April 16, 2004, at a Bangor healthcare center. She was born June 8, 1916, in Meriden, Conn., the daughter of Otto and Martha Bauman. Mrs. Thompson and her husband formerly owned and operated the Thompson Candy Co. in Meriden, Conn. She enjoyed playing bridge with friends. Eleanor was predeceased by her husband, George Thompson, in 1981. Surviving are a niece, Patricia Ballinger; nephew, Mark Morrissey; great-nieces and great-nephews, Jill, Kim, Mark, Robin, Kelly; great-grandnephew and nieces, Sean, Ashley and Meagan. Graveside services will be held 10 a.m. Friday, April 23, 2004, at the Walnut Grove Cemetery, Meriden, Conn., with the Rev. Dr. John Clark, pastor of the First Congregational Church, Meriden, Conn., officiating. Arrangements by Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor.
