FALMOUTH – Eleanor DeAlbra Yerxa, 94, of Applegate Lane, died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2007, surrounded by her children at her residence. She was born Nov. 29, 1912, the daughter of Clifford and Bertha West. She grew up in Bangor, and was a graduate of Bangor High School in 1929 and the University of Maine in 1933. In 1935, she married Philip R. Yerxa and they resided in South Portland for many years. She moved to Falmouth in 1967 and lived there until the present. She was predeceased by her husband. She is survived by a son, Richard and his wife, Priscilla, of Portland; her daughter, Dorothy Woodbury of Yardley, Pa.; and daughter, Joan Patterson and her husband, William III, of Northfield, Mass.; nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Clifford and Patricia West of Winthrop; a sister and her husband, Leona and Robert Clukey of Bangor; several nieces and nephews. There will be no visiting hours. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, at Falmouth Foreside Community Church, Falmouth. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to College Club of Portland, care of Shirley Pyles, treasurer, 51 Applegate Lane, Falmouth, ME 04105 or Kennebec Girl Scout Council 138 Gannett Dr., South Portland, ME 04106.
