BELFAST – Eleanor M Smith passed away March 5, 2006. She was born Nov. 12, 1928, in Blooming Grove, N.Y. Ellie enjoyed cooking, reading and gardening to name a few of her hobbies. She was truly devoted to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a best friend to her sons and daughters and was admired for being their rock. She was predeceased by two brothers, Raymond LaFrance and Larry LaFrance; and one sister, Shirley Thibodeau. Eleanor is survived by six loving children, Reginald Goodwin of Colorado, Charles Gale Jr. and his wife, Sandy, Boye Gale and his wife, Debbie, Carol Pelletier and her husband, Scott, Vincetta Gale, and Ellie Flagg and her husband, Russ, all of Maine; two sisters, Nancy Busby and her husband, Terry, of Kissimmee, Fla. and Phyliss Norful of Winooski, Vt.; one brother, Bobby LaFrance and his wife, Elise, of San Antonio, Texas; and a very special sister-in-law, Gloria LaFrance of Kissimmee, Fla.; nine grandchildren, Brucene Goodwin, Kim Goodwin, Darci Kingsbury, Kelsey Pelletier, Lyndsey McGowan, Casey Flagg, Celeste Pelletier, Simone Pelletier and Alex Flagg; two great-grandchildren, Landon Goodwin and Isabelle Pelletier. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 8, at Rackliffe Funeral Home, 54 Church St., Belfast. Interment will be held in the spring.
