GAITHERSBURG, Md. – Mrs. Elizabeth “Bette” Arlene Young, 87, died Sept. 28, 2006, in Rockville, Md. Born Dec. 10, 1918, in Everett, Mass., she was the daughter of the late William John and Carrie Louise (Patten) Bolton. She was predeceased by her husband of 47 years, Norman Belmont Young; and by her sister, Helen Louise McNulty. She is survived by four children, Jeffrey Howard Young of Austell, Ga., Cynthia Young Orelli and husband, Angelo, of Mount Airy, Md., Cheryl Lee Morris and husband, Michael, of Gaithersburg, Md., and Susan Young Smith and husband, Glasco, of Gaithersburg, Md.; five grandchildren, Christopher Morris and wife, Emily, Melanie Morris, Jennie and Ann Orelli and Matthew Thaddeus Smith. A viewing was held Sunday, Oct. 1, at DeVol Funeral Home, Gaithersburg, Md. The Rev. Helen Smith officiated at the services held Monday, Oct. 2. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 4, at Riverside Cemetery, Hancock. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
