HAMPDEN – Elizabeth Ann (Drotar) McClure, wife of the late James M. McClure, passed away Nov. 10, 2006, surrounded by her family at her home. She was born March 14, 1938, in Woodland, the daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth (Drottar) Drotar. Betty grew up in Woodland and was a graduate of Woodland High School. After high school she attended and graduated from the Eastern Maine Medical Center School of Nursing. She was a registered nurse and worked at Eastern Maine Medical Center for more than 20 years. Elizabeth enjoyed camping, traveling with her husband, and sewing and crafts. Betty will be remembered as a loving and dedicated wife, mother and grandmother, who devoted her life to her family and serving others. She was a member of St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, Hampden. Elizabeth is survived by her children, Lt. Daniel S. McClure, of the U.S. Navy, and his wife, Diane, and Deborah M. Morris and her husband, Bradley, of Hooksett, N.H.; one sister, Agnes Townsend of Owego, N.Y.; four grandchildren, Robert and Justin, Brenisha and Jaylen; one great-grandchild, Tyler James; and nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband of 44 years, James April 5, 2004; her parents; one brother, Leo Drotar; and one sister, Irene Stacey. Visiting hours will be held 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, 45 Western Ave., Hampden. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, 70 Western Ave., Hampden, with the Rev. Robert Vaillancourt, pastor, celebrant.
