DEXTER – Elizabeth J. “Betty” McKusick, 81, died Monday, July 16, 2007, at a Dover-Foxcroft nursing home. She was born May 30, 1926, in Dover-Foxcroft, a daughter of Ch-arles and Helen (Dow) Eldridge. Betty graduated from Foxcroft Academy and worked as an area telephone operator, and later, at P. E. Ward department store. Betty’s greatest joy was living on the dairy farm and raising her family. Her home was always open to friends and family, where you could have a great homemade meal, good conversation and a competitive game of cribbage. She is survived by a daughter and two sons, Margo and husband, Robert Titus, Mark and wife, Cheryl and Matthew and wife, Lynn McKusick, all of Dexter; a brother, Wilson and wife, Janet Eldridge, of Arizona; 11 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Richard Jr.; and two brothers, Warren and his wife, Patricia, of Albany, N.Y., and David and his wife, Marjorie, of Sangerville. At her request, there will be no funeral. A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Dexter.
